George Carlin's philosophy of religion takes on a different perspective on religion. While sounding like an atheist, George Carlin is really a spiritual person who finds organized religion to be hypocritical and contradicting.

Review: The 4400
|
| |
In order for a science fiction series to captivate a large audience, it must present a reality where the basis of the show is a possible reality and then create a world around that basis that is believable and appeals to the average person. "The 4400" does just that by creating a plausible reality and then interlaces the story lines not with pseudo-science, but rather character relationships, terrorism, environmental impact, government mistrust, and the unbelievable risks people will take to maintain the status quo. By appealing to a large audience, "The 4400" establishes itself as one of the best television shows on USA Network.

Review: The UFO Hunters
|
| |
The best UFO Hunters would have to be right now in our modern time. Simply The UFO Hunters the television show from The History Channel. Recently going thru a battle with sci-fi channel because they to named a show The UFO Hunters. It seems The History Channel has won that suit.Due to the fact that I haven't seen another sci fi based show since the pilot and there have been alot of new shows on The History Channel. UFO Magazine one of the biggest ufo mags on the face of the planet sponsors the show and it's lead creator runs the show. Going to famous hot spots across the world. Shows have included police officers interviewed who have seen odd circumstances involving ufos and received ridicule from the public for doing so. The show brings in the hard balls to scrape thru terrain to look for hard evidence. Shows have included also The Betty and Barney Hill case and evidence from the case unearthed restudied. We have also seen people claiming to have alien artifacts in their skin have them surgically removed. One object taken out jumped around and avoided the scapel at all costs with a bizarre intelligence.

Yahweh: The Egyptian Sun God The Evolution of Amen-Ra into the Hebrew God
The origins of the Hebrew religion are deeply routed in Egyptian religious practices. However, what has not been discussed before is the possibility that the religion of Akhenaten (father of Tutankhamen) is the oldest form of modern monotheism. Thus, the Egyptian Sun god, Amen-Ra, and the Hebrew god, Yahweh, are one in the same. In 1353 BCE, the Pharaoh Amenhotep IV came to power. Upsessed with worship of the sun god Amen-Ra, he changed the Egyptian religion entirely in 1346 BCE. The nest year, he changed his name to Akhenaten, which means "he who is of service to Aten." He banned the worship of the other gods and demanded that Amen-Ra be worshiped as the head god. He changed the Egyptian religion from polytheism (belief in many gods) to henotheism (the acceptance that there are other gods, but worshipping only the supreme one) . . .

Aliens, Angels, and Sex
Some of the strangest tales that I find amusing in
ufo story lore are the ones involving sex. For instance I recall reading a story where a man came across a landed ufo and was approached by a beautiful blonde haired nordic pale skinned alien princess. He was asked to come inside and she quickly disrobed and jumped his bones. Many tales of these encounters. Some tales I wouldn't mind don juaning in myself. In Shirley McClaine's book, "Sagging While Aging," she hangs out with a guy in peru who claimed to have scored with an alien woman. These type tales go greatly with the angels of God coming down and hitting third base with humans back in the day.

Magnetism 101
Magnets are one of the most used natural wonders in our world today. They can be found in everything from cell phones to the regenerative breaks in your car. Yet they are a physical enigma, some of the properties which they have are very peculiar indeed. A magnet is an object where all the charges “spin” off the electrons in the ferrous material all point in the same direction; this produces the poles on the magnet. As we know like poles repel one another and unlike poles attract each other, one should that the poles of the magnet do not have a charge, and that the terms north and south poles are arbitrary to each magnet. Also unlike charges a magnet has never been observed to have a mono-pole that is a north or south pole can not exist alone, if you break a magnet each subsequent fragment will always have two opposite poles.

Extra-Terrestrials: The Creators of Mankind
Many people think that seeing is believing, and find it hard to believe in something that they have never seen for themselves. Still, when trying to find a very plausible explanation to the origin of mankind, scientific creationism from extra-terrestrials with the help of DNA beats other theories, such as creation by a supernatural god, or random evolution from under-developed species. At least, that’s what some people think. If you are not a believer in God or in Darwin’s theory, then the idea of having been created in an extra-terrestrial laboratory seems quite appealing, doesn’t it? Or, at least, it is worth taking into consideration.

The Basics of Paranormal Investigation
The word paranormal comes from the words "para" meaning beyond, and normal. So the term paranormal really means something that is beyond the normal scope of science or being beyond a scientific explanation. According to the Journal of Parapsychology, the term paranormal describes "any phenomenon that in one or more respects exceeds the limits of what is deemed physically possible according to current scientific assumptions."

Magic and Magick - How Rituals Work and Why
The term Magick, with the added k, was created by the very controversial Aleister Crowley. Despite the drama, strange hat wearing and fuss over his life and career, Crowley was a real erudite and the first to establish the act of ritual as an act of the magician's will, instead than a favour from an invoked entity.

Moral/Ethical Dilemma
|
| |
You are driving down the road in your car on a wild, stormy night, when you pass by a bus stop and you see three people waiting for the bus:
1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die. 2. An old friend who once saved your life. 3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.
Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing that there could only be one passenger in your car? Think before you continue reading. This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a job application.

Culture of Contact
|
| |
In 2007, Culture of Contact formed out of a loosely-knit group of "experiencers" who came together to create an annual multimedia festival-like conference in New York City. We figured it was time to put an end to dry presentations by ufologists retreading the cases we already know. We agreed it was time for ufology to receive a swift kick in the butt and who better to kick it than alien abductees? We received nothing but positive mainstream press for our efforts, which is unheard of in this field. We branched out. Before year's end we had launched a successful podcast and also launched Whitley Strieber's book, 2012: The War For Souls. It's 2008 and we're still going strong. We'll be hosting some mini events around New York leading up to the 2nd annual festival in September. The podcast is more popular than ever and so we're riding that momentum and branching out again, this time into cyberspace. That's right, Culture of Contact is bringing its special brand of fun, nonpartisan inquiry to the net.
