There only two types of energy in the world: primary energy and secondary energy. Primary energy is the energy that the entire universe (physical and non-physical) is made. Secondary energy is physical energy that we can see in the physical plane. Everything in the physical plane is made up of secondary energy which is made up of primary energy.
Imagine the universe as an apple. The thin outer skin of the apple is secondary energy. The fruit itself is pure primary energy, but also the whole apple itself is primary energy, even the skin. In this analogy, primary energy would be the atoms that make up the apple and also the molecules that structure the apple.
Like in the apple analogy, the universe is structured out of primary energy. The primary energy is the internal structure of secondary energy. In other words, secondary energy contains primary energy. Secondary energy can only be found on the Physical Plane where it makes up the atoms. The Physical Plane is made up of "energy" and matter. For lack of a better term for "energy" on the Physical Plane, the term will be in quotations.
In physics, the matter-energy conversion is familiar to all. This is a conversion between different types of secondary energy; however, secondary energy conversion has a significant impact on its primary energy make up. When matter is converted to "energy," the structure of the physical plane is affected. Basically, when the strong force of an atom is altered, not only is a great amount of "energy" released, but there is a shockwave throughout the primary energy.
Everyday in every corner of the universe, nuclear fusion in stars takes place. This type of matter-energy conversion is normal. Even though it is on such a grand scale, most of the primary energy in its purest form pulls away from such masses. This is why stars and black holes cause space-time fractures, because primary energy is thinner (even though there is an abundance of secondary energy). What happens is that the nuclear fusion makes tons of "energy" from the fusion that causes disruptions in the primary energy. Even though there is a lot of secondary energy, the primary energy is having to constantly restructure itself as secondary energy; therefore, it causes a void of primary energy. Lack of primary energy means a lack of psychic energy on Earth.
When there is a matter-energy conversion on Earth, the repercussions are far more powerful. Since Earth is full of life, which is the highest order of the primary energy as the secondary energy, Earth has a strong connection with primary energy. When a matter is converted into "energy," the reaction is similar to what happens on a star. There is a void of primary energy around these conversions causing lack of psychic energy. There is also a hole in the Commonality.
There are also more devastating effects to life forms when a matter-energy conversion claims lives. In such events as the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs, the matter-energy conversion displaced the primary energy of life forms. Basically, this caused the Ka and the Sha'carava to completely disappear.
Imagine Hiroshima as a chalk board. The lines or dots on the chalk board is life forms. When the blast went off, it is like wiping the chalkboard clean from the center. All signs of those life forms that once existed have disappeared. While remains of their physical bodies may still remain, their primary energy is displaced.
Because such matter-energy conversions have such a devastating effect on the Commonality and the individual, Nogardians have chosen the first atomic experiment as the beginning of their calendar. Never had so much primary energy been destroyed in such a close range than when the first atom was split.
Primary energy has different properties, like psychic energy. Unlike Secondary energy, which is a highly structured and the physical form of primary energy, psychic energy is a piece of primary energy. Psychic energy is the consciousness of primary energy.
Another way to understand psychic energy is through analogy. Lets look back at the apple analogy where the skin was secondary energy and the interior of the fruit was primary energy but yet the entire apple, including the skin and the interior, is primary energy. In that analogy, the atoms of the apple is psychic energy. Psychic energy is the bond between primary energy and secondary energy but is made purely of primary energy.
All matter contains psychic energy. This is how the physical plane of secondary energy is able to communicate with the primary energy that makes up the entire universe. The connection between psychic energy and primary energy is the greatest, because they are one in the same. When primary energy is affected, so is the psychic energy; however, when secondary energy is effected it rarely has any affect on primary energy, thus having a rare affect on psychic energy. The only way secondary energy can have an affect on primary energy is either by destroying secondary energy or by taping into psychic energy.
The use of psychic energy is the basis of magic. When someone attempts to alter the state of secondary energy or to change the rules of secondary energy, psychic energy is used. The human mind is a primary source of psychic energy, having containing primary energy as well as secondary energy. Basically, a human mind focuses its psychic energy to persuade the primary energy into changing the form of the secondary energy.
The human mind is unique in comparison to other living creatures. While all life forms contain psychic energy, which connects them to primary energy, they contain much less psychic energy. The physical structure of the human mind allows for the secondary energy to make regular contact with the primary energy through the psychic energy property of primary energy.
The human mind is like a radio. Like a radio, the mind needs "energy" to work. Electricity powers a radio the same way it powers the human mind. A radio receives signals through a transmitter. The human brain receives psychic energy by the mind's sensitivity to fluctuations in primary energy. This sensitivity to primary energy allows humans to see "ghost."
Ghost is a general term for many different paranormal occurences. Most commonly, the word ghost is used in reference to an unexplained image, such as a translucent image of a man. But there is more to ghosts than just images of humans. Ghost could be any being made purely of primary energy that slightly crosses over to the Physical Plane.
