The American Dream can easily be defined as becoming successful but the question is what exactly does it mean to be successful? A great man once said, "The American Dream that we were all raised on is a simple but powerful one - if you work hard and play by the rules, you should be given a chance to go as far as your God-given abilities will take you." A truer statement has never been spoken.
Many would say the American Dream is based on how much you accomplish, while others say that the American Dream is the amount of monetary wealth you have. Money does not always make a person happy however. Money buys objects not happiness. Some even say that the true American Dream is having a great family. The truth is, the American Dream is really a combination of all three. Many Americans are considered to be living the American Dream when their careers have prospered, they are financially stable, and they have a close, loving family.
The American Dream does not necessarily have to be based on such things either. The American Dream could simply be living free. America was a country built by the people for the people and with it came liberty, justice, and the pursuit of happiness. Just living in American could simply be defined as living the American Dream. It is a dream that many have had but few have lived.
The American Dream can be anything you want it to be that applies to success, which is a wide range of things and ideas. Many have lived the America Dream of freedom and prosperity and more will.
